While the Qur’an and hadith collections are the most important and fundamental books that every Muslim should read and take to heart, there are also countless other inspirational books that are written by Muslims that we can learn from.
Here, we listed books that will inspire us more to be better Muslims.

 

1. The Sealed Nectar ( الرحيق المختوم – Ar-Raheeq AI-Makhtum)

Sheikh Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarkpuri
This is a book about the life of Prophet Muhammad SAW. Moreover, it also gives details about the pre-Islamic Arabia. It received a first prize award by the World Muslim League. By reading this book, one can get acquainted more with the sunnah and character of our beloved Prophet.

 

2. Fortress of the Muslim

Sa’id bin Ali bin Wahf Al-Qahtani
This is a pocket size book which lists some beneficial duas or supplications that a Muslim recites. With its small size, it is very convenient to carry around. The duas are written in Arabic and transliterated to the alphabet. There is also an English translation of each one of them.

Aaidh ibn Abdullah al-Qarni
This is a self-help book for those who are undergoing some emotional instability. It teaches one to have patience and faith in the will of Allah SWT. The beauty of this book is the fact that it is written in a subtle and conversational way.

Yasmin Mogahed
Similar to Don’t Be Sad, this is also a self-help book for those who have their hearts attached to the world. It is a collection of Mogahed’s personal reflections.

 

5. Enjoy Your Life

Dr. Muhammad ‘Abd Rahman Al –‘Arifi
This book talks about balancing the world and the hereafter. It also gives us examples from the life of the Prophet SAW, thereby giving us insights on how to enjoy our life like how he did in his time.

 

6. A Guide to Male-Female Interaction in Islam

Dr. Hatem Al-Haj
In today’s age where there are no more boundaries set by culture and tradition as to the interaction between a man and a woman, this book gives us light as to how such situation should be handled.
