Islam: The Most Misunderstood Religion

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem.

Assalamu alaykom wa rahmatullahi wa barakatohu

In the present times, the true message of Islam is being overshadowed by misconceptions. It is because there are people who don’t understand what Islam is all about either for not studying it, looking at the wrong inaccurate sources, not understanding it in deeper concept or perhaps mixes it with their desires. This causes turmoil and corruption among the generations, for that reasons there are many sects and division instead of one ummah (community, nation).

Islam is the way of life established by the Creator Himself and guided by the prophets of the pasts (peace be upon them all) to preach the concept of monotheism that there is only one God (tawheed). And not to believe and participate in any shirk (association with Allah and worshipping idols etc apart from Allah).

To understand Islam, we must look at the very foundations, to look deeper into the history; for it would tell us what truly happened back then and how everything got into its place.

To read the Al-Quran, sent from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to teach the mankind the Oneness of God (Allah in Arabic) and the reality of this dunya (world) and akhira (hereafter). It has taught us the correct guidance of path, some of the history of the prophets (peace be upon them all) life’s, to abstain the prohibitions, etcetera.

To read the commentary of Al- Quran (tafseer), explains the ayat (verses, signs, revelation, proofs etc) in further details to have better understanding.

To read authentic hadith (prophetic teachings and actions and approvals), this teaches us how the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was like in different situations and circumstances. Which we all should try to implement. (If God’s wills)

And to read all the other correct resources from the rightly guided believers to have better knowledge rather than judging a book by its cover, or by listening and believing the media, or someone that doesn’t got knowledge and indulges in spreading lies.

By understanding the roots of the foundations it would lead to understanding more of the branches of the Deen (religion), this would allow you to understand more about the true nature of life, death and the hereafter of Islam.
